The Material

What Is Air Core Composite™?

Inflatable Composites™ makes a thin-layer, bondable, ultra-high compressive strength true composite built specifically for inflatable applications. Add a thin layer of our composite to any inflatable membrane and you improve resistance to bending loads by more than 300% — without affecting portability or package size.

Our alloyed polymers bond to PVC and urethane-coated materials using two-part adhesives or thermal lamination, so the technology drops into new or existing inflatable product lines without a re-engineered manufacturing process.

Built on Patented Fiber Technology

AirCoreComposite™, our patented reinforcement technology, combines fiberglass, carbon, aramids and thermoplastics to create inflatable structures that are rigid, load-bearing, and highly durable. Once inflated, structures reinforced with AirCoreComposite™ can achieve more than three times the stiffness of conventional inflatables—approaching hard-shell performance while retaining the portability and packability of air.
